Vacation 2011

We left on Friday, September 9th at 4:30am...we drove straight to Charleston, SC. We arrived late afternoon, checked into our hotel, and hit the outlet mall before having dinner at Wild Wing Cafe with some friends. Saturday we did our normal Charleston routine...hit the farmer's market for breakfast, the children's museum, and headed for the beach. The boys had a blast at the beach! Cayden loved the water as did Chase. Cooper was mostly on land playing in the sand. Saturday night we hung out with our friend Rene and her daughter Laney. Sunday we went to our old church Seacoast then drove to Orlando. It was great to me back in Charleston, SC. We have great memories there and it was nice to get back there and just enjoy it.

We arrived in Orlando and of course the boys noticed the Disney signs as we are driving in and so we told them that is where we were heading! I had planned on filming their reaction but it didn't work out :( Needless to say, they were SUPER excited! We checked into the All-Star Movie Resort where we stayed in a 101 Dalmations room. We unpacked and headed to Downtown Disney. We walked around, shopped, and picked up some treats from Goofy's Candy Co. We got to bed and rested up for our first magical day. Monday we hit Magic Kingdom at 8:30am for the opening ceremony. This is where Mickey and his friends open up the pack with pixie dust :) We headed straight for Fantasyland to ride...Chase and Cayden loved them...Cooper not so much :( He loved the outdoor ones like Dumbo, Prince Charming's carousel, etc. He wasn't so sure of the indoor rides like Pooh, Peter Pan, etc. I think it was the unknown that he was scared of, because once he got on it and saw what it was he liked it,,,well kind of :( We had some tears but he still had a great time. We headed back to the hotel for naps and swimming. Headed out to Hollywood Studios for Extra Magic Hours...we rode the BEST ride ever TOY STORY MANIA! So much fun...all of the boys LOVED it! The entire thing was decorated like Andy's room, there was a talking Mr. Potato Head, and the ride was an arcade game that you played while you rode. Super Fun! We ended the night watching Fantasmic which is an awesome show with characters, water, lights, fire, fireworks, etc. Headed to the hotel and crashed...

Tuesday was an early morning that started with breakfast at Chef Mickey's! We met Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto. The boys loved it and also enjoyed the Mickey shaped waffles too! After breakfast we headed back to Hollywood Studios to see the Disney Junior show which consisted of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Little Einsteins, and Handy Manny. We then rode the Toy Story Mania again with fast passes so we didn't have to wait an hour this time and since Coopy is still considered a baby he got to ride twice...once with mommy and once with daddy! He LOVED it!! After, HS we headed to Epcot for Nemo, Living with the Land, Soarin, lunch, and some ice cream. Back to the hotel we went for swimming and pizza in our room.

Wednesday we headed into the jungle at Animal Kingdom. We took a safari, rode dinosaurs, dug for fossils, watched "It's Tough To Be A Bug" which was an awesome 3D show complete with smells, sounds, and touches. The boys got their first souvenirs at AK...Chase got a Simba from Lion King, Cooper got a baby monkey, and Cayden got baby giraffe. After AK, we tried to hit MK again but it was crazy busy and the waits were ridiculous so we headed back to the hotel, showered, napped, and hit up Downtown Disney again for dinner at Rainforest Cafe, a dance party where Chase was pick out of the crowd to dance, and more shopping! We got Mickey ears for the boys, Mickeys, and something for our sweet nieces.

Thursday was Early Magic Hour at MK, so we were there at 8 am and were able to ride everything again and see a Mickey show all by 11:30! We headed to our already packed car, said goodbye to Mickey and headed home. We had an AMAZING time. the boys had a blast, we met lots of characters including our favorites Buzz, Woody, and Jessie! The boys did great traveling the long way, Christopher and I kept our cool for the most part and we just all had a great family fun vacation! I am so thankful for a hard working husband who worked and worked and worked this summer to pay for our trip...we stayed on budget and were able to do everything we planned and then some. We are so blessed and thankful for this awesome time as a family!

P.S. Can you tell they were wore out EVERYDAY??!!
