Science Central

Chase participated in his first Science Fair this week at Hinkle Creek. He was so brave and smart. He worked so hard on his EGG-periment :) It was basically an egg drop but he did all the work and had such a blast. He worked so hard on his presentation. He practiced and practiced. Saturday was the big day...a jammed packed day! 7:50am-arrive at school, 8:10am present his project, 9:00am basketball game...go Greyhounds!, 10-12:00-errands and lunch, 12:00-Science Fair exhibit 12:30pm Awards. Chase recieved a second place award...a red ribbon! He was so proud and excited. As we were leaving school, he said Mommy, I cant wait to do this again! Words can not discribe how proud we are of him. He is really growing each and every day and learning so much. We are so blessed by him every day! Hinkle Creek Science Fair 2014 Here We Come!! Yes, he is using his mommy's gerber daisy flower pen :)

It's been 6 years...

It was about 6 years ago when Christopher and I sat in the barnyard themed room, that was painted blue and green, and assembled a crib. The crib was beautiful...a gift from our parents. It was one of those 4 in 1 cribs. We didn't know then that we would never use the other 3 uses because we would have babies 2 years apart and just purchase a toddler bed for Chase. Nor did we know it would be the first of 2 cribs because we would have babies 13 months apart! That crib in the barnyard themed room was the beginning...the beginning of our lives as parents. The place that our babies would lay down their heads and rest. The crib we looked at every night as we checked on our babies before we headed to bed. The crib that was in so many pictures and memories. Today, that crib is in pieces in our spare room. It is no longer holding our babies. It will no longer be the place of sleep, confinement, or play for our babies. Pieces...just pieces waiting to provide a safe haven for another little one. I'm thankful to be passing it on...thankful for blessing another family with something they need, that their baby needs. But, my heart is heavy. It aches. I know it is silly...I mean really its a piece of furniture. But its also an ending...the ending to the baby stage. I am not ready for this. I feel like I write about Cayden's history in every blog but it is woven in every thought, feeling, and memory of our lives. I feel like we were so focused on keeping him healthy, keeping him growing, that we lost his baby journey. Now, he is Big Baby! He is in a twin bed, he is talking, he is playing, he is running this house!! LoL. I am so thankful for the way God has surrounded us and for the mercy of His mighty plan and I feel guilty that I am even "complaining" about this new stage in our life because we didn't know if we would get here! I am just sad...sad to be out of the baby stage...sad to not be bringing home another baby to that crib...sad to not have all my boys cram into the crib and giggle uncontrollably because they are in the baby's bed :) Just plain sad. However, there is nothing we can do but to "mourn" and move on...like all mommies do as we pass through the different stages of our kiddos lives.goodbye crib! Thank you for all the memories :) Bring on the next stage...I'm ready..I think!! So

Just not ready...

January brings lots of depressing exciting things..like...taxes, second semester, and preschool registration! Yep, preschool registration for my baby...my youngest boy...sniff sniff tears. I AM NOT READY FOR THIS! I am not ready for an empty home two days a week. I'm not ready for the beginning of the end of babies at home. I'm just not. I would keep all 3 of them home if I could but it has been "doable" with Chase and Cooper because I still had Big Baby at home. However, September brings his first day of preschool...the beginning of the end. This is one sad momma...tears with the registration form, tears when the receipt of his registration came, and tears just typing this post :( I am just not ready! 8 months and counting...

2012...goodbye! Hello 2013:)

So it has been a LONG time...a year to be exact! Ridiculous I know :( But after reading some amazing blogs yesterday (thank you Samantha) I went back and read through mine and I was amazed at some of the things I had forgotten. So I am making a commitment to start sharing our memories again not for any one but my little family of five so that we wont forget anything that this crazy life sends our way but if you want to read then enjoy :) So here we go with a recap of 2012... It was quite a big year for us! Christopher and I purchased a new home...a dream home...a serious gift from God!! We are so blessed and are loving it! Christopher is working hard as always and had his best year to date in 2012. He coached t-ball again for Chase as well as being busy with Babe Ruth baseball too. We took a few small trips to see friends and have time together. It was just a really great year for him. I kept busy with the boys, moving, MOPS, bible study, play dates, etc. I am on the steering team for MOPS at our church with is a Mother of Preschoolers group. I love it...love the friendships, the stories, the advise, just the connection with other mommies. I am in a Moms In Prayer group through Chase school...we meet once a week and pray specifically for our school, kids, and all involved at Hinkle Creek Elementary. Yep, thats right my baby is in kindergarten...TEARS :( Not sure what else to say about me...it was a good year :) Chase started kindergarten. He is loving it and doing really well. He played t-ball, flag football, and is currently in basketball. He is really enjoying sports...cant wait to see which one he sticks with :) He got glasses shortly after school started. He looks so stinkin cute with them on...he doesn't mind them at all which is great. He is loving Jesus and God...really beginning to understand those relationships and isn't afraid to tell everyone about it. He has such a sweet and intense heart. We are so blessed! Cooper began preschool with Mrs. Lisa and Mrs. Stacey at Emmanuel. He is loving it but doesnt like to to tell us about his day. He LOVES his baby brother...they have really bonded this year. I think its because Chase is at school everyday. He loves super heros, Toy Story, veggietales, and his blanky. He was diagnosed with asthma this year but has really been doing well with it and we pray he will grow out of it. He is silly and well behaved. He has temper but it doesnt appear often! He loves church, MIP, and MOPS...loves being able to play with his friends. He is a good boy! Cayden is doing awesome! So awesome that is January 2013 cardiology appt. got pushed back to June 2013...what we wont see the cardiologist for over a year???!!! That is CRAZY and AMAZING!!! Thank you Lord for our blessings!! Cayden is so funny and naughty...he gets away with WAY more than he should but I just have a really hard time disciplining him. I know I will regret this a age 10 and you can all blame me for him being a wild child...but i just cant! LoL. He still loves Tangled, Toy Story, Veggiestales especially Larry Boy. He loves being a super hero with his cape that grandma gave him. He is talking well but still has moments where we don't know what he is saying. Thankfully we have 2 little interpreters who are right there giving him what he wants...that may be his problem :) He has a second set of tubes put in this fall and is doing great with them. He is just a complete miracle and we are so thankful for him. So there it is...2012! Whew...I know there was lots I missed but my goal is to not do that with 2013...so here we go!
