Cayden Nine Month Checkup

Cayden had his nine month checkup yesterday. Here are his stats: 17 lbs 2 oz and 27 1/2 inches long. Unfortunately, his head jumped on the charts again so we are headed for CT scan next week. Since we have had 3 ultrasounds the doctor thinks we need to look a little more in depth to make sure everything is okay. He also is seeing a pulmonalogist to look into the congested breathing since the suggestions the ENT gave us aren't really helping. I feel like I should be used to the "extras" we always end up with after his check ups but you just don't get used to have your baby sick and treated & tested over and over again. However, there is nothing I can do...Cayden is in God's hands...I trust the Lord and know that whatever is handed to us, we will make it work through God's grace and provision. To quote a friend's FB post I am going to choose to count blessings, instead of counting scars!

Let's play catch up...

Okay , we are 3 days away from March and I haven't blogged about February at all!!! So let's catch up...

Chase: He had a super fun Valentine's party at preschool. He and I went on a Mommy/Son date with some other mommy and sons from MOPS...we went to Monical's Pizza and Pinheads for bowling. We had a great time! We signed Chase up for preschool for next year. We are adding one more day so he will be in the MWF pre-k program...he is getting so big!!!

Cooper: Cooper Baby is getting bigger everyday. He is talking non-stop and loves to play with his toys. He LOVES his big brother and his baby. I can't believe he will be 2 yr old in 6 weeks!!!

Cayden: Therapies are going really well for Cayden. He is sitting with minimal support, reaching while sitting, and he is getting up on all fours. He still wants nothing to do with baby food such as cereal and purees but he has decided he likes puff, crunchies, biter biscuits, and veggiestraws! He is still waking up 3-4 times a night...needless to say we are tired :)

Me and Christopher: We went to Cincinnati to visit Melinda and hit up IKEA. We got lots of stuff including the boys new bunk beds for their new room. We had a great time...hanging out, SLEEPING, and shopping. We had a very nice Valentine's Day...we celebrated 10 years since we told each other we loved one another the first time. Christopher spoiled me with new black Ugg boots and a diamond key necklace from Kays. Christopher had his annual meeting in Vegas and I have been busy saving money by hitting the coupons hard!

March is going to be busy and hopefully filled with lots of good things for us...I will try and get a little more regular with my blogging :)

Toy Story 3 on Ice

We took the big boys to Toy Story 3 on Ice. We didn't tell them where we were going so they were super excited when we got there and saw all the TS3 stuff. Being on a budget, I was prepared with light up globes(Walmart) that I attached a TS sticker to...total cost $10! It saved us from spending lots of $$$! We did splurge on a snow cone and some popcorn which Cooper Baby thoroughly enjoyed. We had EXCELLENT seats, eight rows up. It was a great show and we all had a blast. The baby stayed with Tete and they had quite the photo shoot! Here are some photos from TS3 on Ice and Tete&Cayden's photo shoot...

Words, Words, Words...

Cooper Baby has really come into his vocabulary in the last few weeks! He LOVES to say Chase and Baby(Cayden). He says "Yes", "Ciyoo"(Caillou), "Mouse"(Mickey), "Daddy", "Mommy", "Papa", "Tete", "Girlie"(Jaynce aka Baby Girlie", and much much more! He is really enjoying his words as in he DOESN'T STOP TALKING!! I'm not sure where he gets this from :) He is so fun to watch learn and play. He loves to dance and sing too. His favorite toys right now are his Toy Story toys. He still has his binky but we are working that and he carries his blankie everywhere! He loves his big brother and his little brother. He likes to be mommy's big helper and loves to snuggle...I just wanted to jot these things down as an update on our sweet Cooper Baby!

Never forget...

Not even a week after Cayden's amazing cardiology checkup he gave us a scare...On Saturday, January 22nd, Cayden starting vomiting in the night. Sunday morning we tried pedialyte with little success. Monday brought more vomiting and no eating which brought on dehydration and landed us in the hospital on Tuesday morning. We were admitted into Peyton Manning Children's Hospital. He received IV fluids and pedialyte by mouth. He started to eat diluted formula and was successful at keeping it down. We were discharged on Wednesday afternoon, on our way home, Cayden proceeded to vomit again. Back to the hospital we went! He was readmitted and we stayed until Thursday afternoon. Even though he was begininning to eat and keep things down he was still lethargic, fussy, he was sleeping 18-20 hours a day. The doctors kept saying it was a stomach virus...we were back in the pediatrician's office on Friday. We followed up on Monday with little change. This resulted into two X-rays to start ruling out causes, both came back clear. The next step was blood work and a following up with the cardiologist. However, before we could do this the ice hit and we were iced in for 2 days!! We were praying for Cayden to not get any worse as it would be dangerous roads to get him to the ER. Thankfully, he started to perk up on Tuesday evening and continued to become more active throughout Wednesday. Wednesday night he broke out into a rash which confirmed the suspicion of a virus. This is a long drown out post full of details that are here for one reason and one reason only...for me to REMEMBER!!! I want to remember how a small GI virus could knock down my baby's fragile system. I want to remember when he is running all around, starting school, graduating college, and getting married that it was a long, stressful, yet BLESSED road! Thank you God for continuing to watch over all of our beautiful boys and for always surrounding us with your love during times of stress and times of joy. We are truly blessed!
